Al and Cal Homes and Community: Mansfield MA Airport 1B9 Open House Saturday Sept 10

Mansfield MA Airport 1B9 Open House Saturday Sept 10

Mansifeld MA Airport 1B9 Open House Saturday Sept 10

For me, there is nothing like the draw of a general aviation airport.   There is something mesmerizing about watching and listening to aircraft taking off, landing, taxing or buzzing about the pattern.   I know I am not alone, because I sometimes see Mom's, Dad's or Grandparents with their kids spending some time at a picnic table waiting and watching for a plane to start up and take off or land.

Mansfield Municipal Airport

For those of you who share my passion or for those of you who have never been to a Municipal Airport, this Saturday, September 10th from 10-2 is your chance to bring the family on down and get to know the local airport in Mansfield MA (also known as 1B9)

What child young or old, doesn't love airplanes?   It's a family friendly event, a Fly-in of antiques, classic and home built aircraft, but there will be more to see and do including a planned kid's interactive area.     Aircraft will be on display including the newest member of King Aviation's fleet, the Cessna SkyCatcher!

I hear there will be other fun things going on like, believe it or not, a "Cow chip Bingo".... (to benefit the local animal shelter)

 Flying Around Mansifeld MA

Are you like me and turn your eyes to the sky when you hear a small plane overhead?    If so, be sure to stop by King Aviation's "Learn to Fly" booth!     The folks at King Aviation 508-339-3624 are friendly, knowledgeable and professional.   There will two 20 minute Learn to Fly seminars  that one can attend.   One starting at 11 am and the other at 1 pm.    Or, jump on in.   First flights will be available at a moderate cost.

You might just find yourself finally sitting in the left seat!

So come on down this Saturday any time from 10 to 2 and check out

Carol-Ann, I grew up near a small airport in Massachusetts, and one of the neighbor use to take me up in his plane every so often. There is nothing like the feeling of flying in a small plane - over familiar landscapes. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Hi Carol Ann....I still can't believe you have your pilots license.....that's great....but I like my two feet on the ground.....I really dislike flying....I think it's a control thing!! As long as I'm the driver, I'll drive.

LOL Carol Ann, I thought you were selling an Airport!  I thought WOW...What a Realtor(r).  How cool that the Mansfield Airpost in MA will be having an open to show what they are all about...not sure about the cow chip bingo though, lol :)!

Hi Steve.   There are lots of small airports all over and they each have their own distinct personality.   I agree and love flying over my listings!     Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Barbara.   You think it's a control thing?????     Maybe you should try left seat!    Thanks for reading.

Hi Brenda.   I howled when I read your comment.   There I go again with the thinking everyone knows what I am thinking.  :)  Never have played cow chip bingo.. I'll let you know if I win!

Cal, I think we all look up when we hear a small plane.  In fact, Mac and I both looked up when a little plane flew over during our run today...I thought it was cute that he noticed it too.

What a fun and creative post...:)

Hi Cal, Nice post. Wish I could show up at Mansfield. Do you wear gloves when you play with the cow chips? I like this site. Lots of information and the airport caught my eye as always. Hope you all have fun.

Carol Ann,

This sounds like really fun event. My step sons are both into going to aviation shows and watching all the planes do their thing in the air. I like all of your pictures and you are correct most folks watch small planes in the air.

Thank you for commenting on my blog as it is always greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

Hi Al!   Thanks for stopping in.    Who doesn't love airports and cow chips!

Hi Vinny!    Thanks for checking it out and commenting!     As of right now, the cow still hasn't made his move!  :)

Hi Bob!    Thank you for dropping by.   I hope your boys have fun at the events!

Cal no you are talking my language! I started taking flying lessons in school when I was 16 and got licensed @ 21. Every birthday as a kid my wish was to go to the restaurant at the airport so I could watch the planes take off. I have been flying ever since. Tampa has an awesome airshow that I try to get to every year or so. Enjoy!

Hi Marco!   :)  I haven't been flying anywhere near as long as you but,  I've always loved hanging out at the airport.  Before the one near our home closed in the 80's we would just go out and sit on the grass watching and wishing.    Thanks for stopping by!

Cal you haven't been flying as long as me because I am like 100 years older than you! LOL
