Millis MA Buddy Bowl to honor local hero Sgt Joe Deslauriers

A true American Hero,   32 year old Air Force Technical Sergeant, Joe Deslauriers

is an Explosive Ordinance Disposal specialist who has served a tour in Kuwait a tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan.   He has received a bronze star.

Sgt Deslauriers was seriously injured

while on a mission clearing an area for a convoy where it appears an IED was remotely detonated.     He has suffered the loss of both legs and an arm.    We understand he is up for the challenge and is progressing each day, but the road to recovery will be long and hard.
This local hero from Bellingham MA, and his wife Lisa are expecting their first child in December.

Cal:  This is a great opportunity to give something back, not just to a worthy cause, but to one of your local heroes who has lost so much risking his life for others.

Hi Anita.   I am hoping to help get the word out.   It will be wonderful to have a strong showing here.    Joe Deslauriers is so brave and we all feel for him and his family.     Thank you.

Good morning Barbara.    Thank you.   Joe's Dad is a Bellingham firefighter.    Al knows him and so do many.    I understand he is one of the nicest people anyone would want to meet and so is his Son.  Good idea. I will post in office.

What a wonderful way for your community to give back to one of our Wounded Soldiers.  It is also pretty cool to hear that SGT Deslauriers and his wife are expecting their first child!  Thank you for posting this!
