Al and Cal Homes and Community: The Turkeys That Stole Christmas A Real Estate Story

The Turkeys That Stole Christmas A Real Estate Story

The Turkeys That Stole Christmas      A Real Estate Story

Twas two weeks before Christmas and all through the house, our clients were happy, we were moving them out!

an offer procured, and signed pronto!    A good deal for all.   We exclaimed so!

The home inspection came, We thought we were done!

We all looked forward to having some fun!

But, not so fast, the Broker said with a cry!Turkeys

You'll never believe it, you can't even try!

What happened we say?   What can it be?

Turkeys she said,

Not   ONE...   or TWO...     but  THIRTY THREE!

The Buyer, she explained as she pulled from the deal,

did not like someone feeding  Turkeys their meal!

Especially on the front lawn, of the Condo that day,

So, you see, it was  Turkeys that made them pull away....

And so, we exclaim, this is one for the books!

On to the next!   ....    Does anyone want to look????

WOW - firstly, very talented. Loved the way you told this story and I am sorry the deal fell apart, can't say I blame her however. 33 turkeys is a lot on a condo lot = but not my swatch of land, the wild turkeys that wander through now and again are a treat to see.

Hi Linda.   Thank you!   Didn't see this one coming.   LOL.    We love to see the wildlife, deer turkeys, fox or whatever, but this was a bit much.   I don't think it would  happen again!

Carol Ann....very clever!  We get a fair number of turkeys here in Canton.  For a while they were pretty aggressive towards runners in the area.  But 33 IS a lot!  Now I wonder.....do you need to disclose this.....?!

Guess they just need to go find a bubble!  Man or man - you just never know what will happen.

Carol Ann: I think that's a first for me...a deal gone south over "real" turkeys! ;-)

Classic post! I live in Huntington Beach in an area where we have a major frog problem in the springtime when they uh "do their thing" and you we have to disclose to home buyers that in certain areas the frog noise can get rather loud at night. Its pretty incredible when you open your door to the amplified sounds of 1000's of frogs croaking like its their job.

Great post Cal, sorry for having to chuckle, what an odd way to loose a deal.  Sorry.

Hi Christine.    Good question?   I don't think we will see that lady feeding them again!   I'm not a turkey fan either, unless they are on the plate at Thanksgiving!    Thanks for commenting.

Cal

I can only only think of the heck of an xmas party you could have had (lol) or maybe feed a few hungry folks. I am certain the seller probably considers them pets but maybe someone should tell him, it's not 33 turkeys, but 34. cheers cvc

Carol Ann,

I absolutely loved your poem and it was so creative and funny. I am sorry you lost the deal due to turkey's feding on the condo grounds. Now that is a completely new reason to bacl out of a deal. I suggested your blog as it is excellent.

Carol,

I read this again today and it made me smile and laugh the second time. Sometimes all we can do is laugh. Besides, I have read that some of the best medicine around per doctor studies is laughter.

Hi Bob.    We are in a business that provides us many opportunities to smile and laugh.   I just love it, even when Turkeys get us down.    :)    I thank you!!
