Vietnam Moving Memorial Wall Comes To Medway MA May 30 thru June 3
Many may never have heard of the Vietnam Moving Memorial Wall. I am not sure why, but I had not. But, This moving memorial wall is a half size replica of the Vietnam Veteran's memorial in Washington DC and for almost 30 years it has traveled around the country. It is arriving this morning May 30 in Medway MA. Fitting for Memorial Day week, don't you think?
This 252 foot long wall is scheduled to arrive at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 8 am this morning. There it will stay until June 3rd at noon, on display for the community, 24 hours a day, for people to visit, and to remember the 58,272 Americans who lost their lives while fighting this war. Many young. Many my friends of long ago.
A group of volunteers have recorded the names of all 58,272 of those veterans, and that recording of their names will be played over a speaker system while the wall is at the VFW in Medway. There will be supplies on hand for folks to make rubbings of the wall if they wish to do so. The Boston VA will have grief counselors at the site.
Opening ceremonies this evening May 30th at 6 p.m.
Closing ceremony on June 2nd at 5 pm.
The Veterans of Foreign War Post 1526 is located at 123 Holliston Street in Medway MA.

Carol Ann, I am sure that will be a very heart touching experience. I have not seen the one in Washington DC and this is a great opportunity for folks that cannot travel to have the wall come to these locations!
Yes, I have heard of it - and it came to Portland a while back. A very moving experience for sure. I hope you get a chance to see it Carol Ann.
Carol Ann: If you get the opportunity, a visit to see the Vietnam Moving Memorial Wall before it leaves Medway MA will be quite an experience.
Hey Cal-nope, never heard of it but glad I have now! Nice tribute to a brave and under appreciated group of people.
